Day in the Life: July 4th, 2017

Happy Independence Day, Americans!

What a holiday! I woke up this morning and went for a drive; the first thing I saw was a man driving an old Jeep with a gigantic American flag sticking out of the roof and a golden retriever flapping it’s tongue in the passenger seat. AMERICA.

It’s been an eventful weekend… fillimg_1925ed with boating, BBQ’s, laying by the pool, work (unfortunately) and lots of wine (naturally). I don’t know about where you live, but we’ve had GORGEOUS weather in New England. 80-90 degrees every day, not a cloud in the sky- gorgeous. I haven’t been blogging much lately, and it’s mostly because the gorgeous weather has been keeping me outside non-stop. No complaints here!

We packed up the car and headed to the lake for the day. We anchored the boat at a sandbar with hundreds of other boats. I didn’t know what to expect (I’ve grown up boating in the ocean, my parents decided to dock at the lake this year), but I certainly wasn’t expecting to see tons of 20 somethings blasting music, playing floating flip-cup and partying on their parents boats. It was pretty crazy. There were also a few old men riding around on their jet skis “making sure we were being safe”. Okay old man, we all know you’re here to check out the 25 year old chicks in bikinis.

The day was filled with floating around, soaking up the sun and tons of rosé. It was an IDEAL day.

We lugged our sunburned bodies back to the lake house and grilled out for dinner. Sorry I haven’t been reviewing books or updating you all as frequently! Maybe a rainy day or two will get me back on the computer 😉

Book Update: I have finished The Handmaid’s Tale and am watching the Hulu series now, I will have a compare and contrast post coming soon. Also, I’m currently reading Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler, stay tuned for review coming soon! Comment and let me know what you’re reading! 🙂

Happy Reading,
