I love my S’well water bottle becuase I drink a ton of water; I have the 25oz bottle (the largest size) and I fill it at least 4 times per day. Therefore, I cannot imagine how many plastic bottles I have saved over the 3 years that I have had my S’well. The bottles come in cute and stylish colors, and, more recently, the brand has expanded to tumblers and travel mugs. The absolute best part of this product, and why I purchased it, is that it keeps beverages cold for up to 24 hours and hot for up to 12. For example, if I fill my bottle with ice cold water when I go to bed, when I wake up in the morning it will still be the same exact temperature. As another illustration, if I got to Bikram yoga, where the studio is heated to 105 degrees Fahrenheit, the water in my S’well stays the exact same temperature the entire time.
I have had my Brita now for two years and I must say, the water quality really is better! The Brita pitcher helps reduce the amount of chlorine (taste and odor), copper, cadmium and mercury – all of which may be found in tap water. Moreover, drinking filtered water instead of bottled can help reduce plastic waste.
In one year you can save 1,800 disposable bottles from landfills and oceans with just 2 Longlast Filters.
Biodegradable bags include materials that degrades from naturally occurring microorganisms, like algae, fungi, and bacteria. With biodegradable bags, there is no time frame associated with the process.
Compostable Bags
Compostable bags have materials that degrade at the same rate as other organic compostable materials. When these bags break down, they leave nothing more than water, CO2, biomass, and inorganic substances essential to composting.
Oxo-degradable Bags
Oxo-degradable bags can photodegrade (convert in the sun) or convert with humidity. Once these bags degrade, they do so into smaller particles, leaving plastic polymer residue.
Therefore, compostable bags are the best option. However, it is very difficult to tell the difference between labels that claim items are Biodegradable, Compostable, and Oxo-Degradable because some labels claim to be one, when they are another.
In order to achieve this exceptionally high standard, the compostable bag must be at least 90% decomposed in 180 days. To determine if the bag is actually compostable, simply look for the BPI-certified designation.
I LOVE my Pyrex dishes and use them 24/7. Because of my diet, I always have fruits and vegetables left over from meals. Pyrex dishes function serve as an amazing storage method for me.
Bee’s Wrap started with a question facing many families and home cooks: How could we eliminate plastics in our kitchen in favor of a healthier, more sustainable way to store our food?
Stasher Bags are a great alternative to single-use plastic bags. Stasher Bags are made out of silicone, as opposed to plastic. Silicone is a much more eco-friendly option because, unlike plastic, it is a natural resource, non-toxic and odorless, and is easily recyclable/non-hazardous waste.
Stasher is a patented, award-winning design that is eco-friendly, environmentally safe, and long-lasting. Stasher is the smart alternative to plastic.
TreeSmart began manufacturing in Oregon in 2010, where the production process has been refined to create a high-quality pencil crafted from recycled material in an eco-friendly environment. Whole newspaper sheets are rolled around high quality No. 2 graphite. No toxic chemicals are used in manufacturing and the eraser tips are latex free. A special adhesive formula binds the newsprint together into a cohesive core that is hard as wood. The pencils sharpen easily and last longer than wood pencils.
