SEPTEMBER 2017 READS
Time for some ‘curl up on the couch for hours’ worthy books.
Here’s what I will be reading this month, and you be should too.
The Humorous Read:
The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee
This book has been high on my ‘must-read’ list since it was published in June 2017. The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue is a classic adventure story. It’s about a young man, Henry “Monty” Montague, who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, received a prestigious education and has a father with impossible standards. He’s a rebellious young man who takes you through his Grand Tour of Europe.
If you aren’t convinced, check out the endless positive reviews on Goodreads.
The Game of Thrones Fix:
The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms by George R. R. Martin
Season 7 is over, the finale has aired… But you can obsess even more with the Game of Thrones three-part PREQUEL.
BONUS: There’s illustrations *GASP*
The New & Award Winning:
Sing, Unburied, Sing by Jesmyn Ward
Published on September 5, 2017, Sing, Unburied, Sing is bound to win awards. Jojo and Kayla live with their grandparents on Gulf Coast of Mississippi. Their drug-addict mother stops by infrequently, but that’s the least of their problems. There’s cancer, prison and relatable American-family dysfunction. According to reviews, Sing, Unburied, Sing is real and heartfelt; I can’t wait to read it.
The Must-Read Young Adult:
Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart
From the author of the best selling novel We Were Liars is a new and thrilling psychological suspense story. Genuine Fraud, published September 5, 2017, is said to have twists and turns like no other. Stay tuned for my review!
