Which song do you relate to your favorite book?

My favorite books are all within The Game of Thrones: A Song of Ice and Fire series. I am obsessed with the books and devoted to the HBO series. Therefore, I relate the blood pumping Game of Thrones theme song to my favorite books.

What do you do when you’re in a reading slump?

Reading slumps are few and far between for me; I never go too long without reading. If I find myself unmotivated to read whatsoever, I’ll simply pick up a popular light read. Maybe a best-selling YA novel. Giving my brain a little break is usually all I need to get me back into a groove.

What’s the longest book you’ve read so far this year?

what is the what book cover

Hrm… Game of Thrones and Gone with the Wind come to mind but neither of those were read THIS year. After reviewing my recently read books on Goodreads, I found that the longest book I’ve read so far this year was What is the What by Dave Eggers at 475 pages.

Which popular book do you dislike?

There have been a lot of popular psychological thrillers published lately. I have been more disappointed with each one. They are becoming less original with each publication.  The Woman in Cabin 10 is one that I particularly disliked.

What do you like to do other than reading?

skiing 2016

Although reading is by far my favorite pass-time, I am also quite active. I love to ski, ice skate, workout, try new restaurants, cook, spend time with my family and take my dog on fun adventures.

What’s your favorite season and why?

FALL!!! The foliage, the pumpkin spice everything, the sweater weather, THE FOOTBALL… there is nothing that I don’t absolutely love about fall. You can imagine how happy I am that Labor Day is fast approaching.

Name your perfect snack/drink for while you’re reading.

Drink: Wine. No contender. Just not too much, I want to remember what I read tomorrow.

Snack: I thought hard about this one, it can’t be a messy snack because it is irritating when you have to wipe your hands off before turning each page. Am I right? Perhaps cheese and crackers? It pairs well with the wine and keeps you satiated to read for hours! Second choice: berries. They’re easy to pop in your mouth and there’s no loud chewing to distract your thoughts. Does this bother anyone else? No? Just me?

Name a book you want to read before the end of the year.

winter solstice book cover

I always look forward to Elin Hilderbrand’s winter themed novels. Winter Solstice, which will be released on October 3rd, 2017, is the fourth and final book to Hilderbrand’s winter series about the Quinn family. The first three books were addicting and I can hardly wait to see how she wraps up the story.

If you’re interested, I reviewed her novel, The Identicals, which was published in June 2017. Click here for my review!

Fall is approaching – what’s your favorite fall read?

cuckoos calling book cover

The Cuckoo’s Calling, the first book of JK Rowling’s Cormoran Strike series, definitely comes to mind. It’s a detective series with interesting crimes and intriguing characters. The fact that there’s three books published so far will keep you reading all season long! Time for cozy sweaters and hot drinks around the fireplace. 🙂
