An Anonymous Girl
Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen

As a lover of psychological thrillers, I am sad to say that I was profoundly disappointed with this book. With all of the hype and praise (not to mention a Goodreads average rating of 4.13), I thought there would be most twists, unpredictability, and suspense. Albeit, the plot is unique but the overall story is flat, slow, and unsatisfying.

The Art of Racing in the Rain
Garth Stein

The heart-wrenching, analytical story, told from a dog’s point of view, about one family’s evolution, struggles, and persistence. A man’s best friend tale.

Winter in Paradise
Elin Hilderbrand

Loving this new winter trilogy by Elin Hilderbrand and cannot wait to read what happens in the next two books. For Hilderbrand, this series is unique – taking place on the island of St. John instead of her usual Nantucket setting, and more of a mystery than she typically takes on. I have been hooked from page 1. Stay tuned for the full review!

Here’s to Us
Elin Hilderbrand

Samantha and I recently met Elin Hilderbrand at a book signing event for her newest book, Winter In Paradise. I am really enjoying this novel and chose it because I needed to escape the dreary weather in Boston right now. It is very entertaining and certainly a page-turner.

Dog Songs
Mary Oliver

I have read a couple of Oliver’s collections in the past and was thrilled to received this book for Christmas! Oliver’s style is inspired by an appreciation of nature and animals – right up my alley! Highly looking forward to curling up in front of the fire with this one. Bonus: Mary Oliver enjoyed most of her life as a fellow Newenglander!

Flowers for Algernon
Daniel Keyes

My cousin lent me this a few months ago and I have heard wonderful things about it. I am excited to finally have the opportunity to get to it with a break from classes!
